Compass to return $790 million to shareholders, Times reports

Catering company Compass Group Plc will announce plans this week to return 500 million pounds ($790 million) to shareholders by buying back shares, the Sunday Times reported.

Analysts expect the announcement to be made alongside the company’s annual results, the newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information. Profits are forecast to exceed 1 billion pounds, it said. Compass will also say it won business providing security to Thomson Reuters Corp. and catering to Vodafone Group Plc in Turkey and Dell Inc. in India.

Compass declined to comment, the paper said. Bloomberg competes with Thomson Reuters in selling financial and legal information and trading systems.
