Man arrested for car burglaries in Antioch
A 20-year-old Twin Lakes, Wis. man was arrested and charged with burglary after he was spotted opening the doors of unlocked cars and stealing the contents, Antioch police officials said Monday.
Bradley Anderson was seen breaking into vehicles in theTiffany Farms subdivision at 4:07 a.m. on Nov. 13, Police Chief Craig Somerville said.
Police were in the area after an alert citizen saw Anderson walking from car to car and tipped off police, Somerville said.
Anderson was walking to a vehicle parked on the roadway when police spotted him, and found he was carrying many of the items reported stolen from vehicles.
Anderson was charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, and a misdemeanor charge of consumption of alcohol by a minor.
He was taken to Lake County jail, brought to bond court, and released on a $20,000 recognizance bond. If found guilty of burglary to a motor vehicle, he could spend up to seven years behind bars and a fine of up to $25,000.
“This is yet another example of the impact alert citizens working closely with the police can have,” Somerville said. “This suspect went through a half dozen vehicles, and he most likely would not have stopped there. I commend the quick actions of all involved in bringing resolution to this case preventing additional incidents.”
