1 killed, 2 wounded in Fort Wayne bar shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Police say a man was killed and two people wounded in a shooting during a Fort Wayne bar’s Halloween party.

The shooting happened late Monday at Mookie’s Bar and Grill on the city’s north side. Police say about 200 people were inside when an officer who had arrived on a complaint about loud music heard several gunshots.

Police spokeswoman Raquel Foster tells WPTA-TV that a woman hid in a bathroom as she called in about the shooting while people ran from the bar in what she called “complete chaos.”

The Journal Gazette reports Mookie’s Facebook page promoted a “Halloween Bash” that starting at 9 p.m. Monday.

No arrests were immediately made. A 23-year-old woman was hospitalized in serious condition, while a 26-year-old man was in fair condition.
