What's Giannoulias trying to hide?
Giannoulias claims to have left his family's failed Broadway Bank in 2005, yet he reported to the IRS that he worked hundreds of hours in 2006, qualifying himself for a $2.7 million tax write-off. While he has run his smear campaign against opponent Rep. Mark Kirk, Giannoulias has fought to keep secret his own connection to federally convicted Michael “Jaws” Giorango and his business partner Demitri Stavropoulos.
During his “Meet the Press” debate with Congressman Kirk, Giannoulias claimed he “didn't know the extent of their activity.” If he claims to have done nothing wrong, why did Giannoulias feel the need to lie about his length of time spent at the bank and his involvement with organized crime?
