D50 dual language meeting:

Woodland Elementary District 50 will host its second informational meeting regarding the August 2012 implementation of a dual language program at 6:30 p.m., Dec. 1 at Woodland Primary School, 17366 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake. It will feature the screening of the film, “Speaking in Tongues” for parents. Children who attend will be able to view “Cars 2” in a different location. According to the website, http://speakingintonguesfilm.info, “Speaking in Tongues” follows four diverse children as they become bilingual. “The video, ‘Speaking in Tongues’ will give parents a better understanding of what a dual language classroom looks like and the long term benefits of the program,” said English Language Learner Coordinate Valerie Morey. “After the video, there will be time for a discussion.” For information, contact Morey (847) 984-8718 or vmorey@dist50.net.
