Mundelein building damaged by fire

A vacant commercial building in downtown Mundelein was damaged by a fire Monday night, authorities said.

The blaze at 22 E. Park St., a former restaurant, was reported about 11 p.m. Firefighters from 15 departments assisted Mundelein crews on the scene and kept the fire from spreading.

The fire was out by 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, officials said, and no one was injured. A damage estimate was not available.
