Beware of foreign influence on vote
Does foreign money help buy U.S. votes? Republican apologists (e.g. columnist Charles Krauthammer, Oct. 18) claims there is no evidence, but the recent Supreme Court decision, Citizens United, makes it possible for global corporations to buy U.S. elections.
Outsourcing U.S. jobs is perfectly legal, but giving corporations tax breaks, subsidies and the ability to put unlimited amounts of money into our elections is an egregious abuse of our democracy and the American worker. Think not? Ask any of the millions of U.S. taxpayers whose jobs have been sent to foreign workers what they think about it.
Remember, on Nov. 2: The party of “no” defeated a Senate initiative to end tax deductions for U.S. businesses closing operations and moving jobs outside the country.
