Pizza driver fatally shot at Bloomington shop
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Authorities say a pizza delivery driver was fatally shot when he tried to stop a car break-in outside a Bloomington pizza shop.
The Monroe County coroner says 22-year-old Adam Sarnecki of Bloomington died early Friday after surgery for his wounds.
Police say he told officers that he spotted a man trying to break into the car as he was returning from a delivery just after midnight Friday to the Pizza X store on the city’s south side.
City police Sgt. Jeff Canada tells The Herald-Times that the driver reported he confronted the man, who turned and shot, then ran toward the trees behind the pizza shop.
Police didn’t make any immediate arrests.
