City Invites Residents to Complete Survey on Communication Methods

Feedback Will Help City Create New Citywide Communication Policy

The City of Naperville invites residents and interested parties to provide feedback on its current communication/public information methods and suggestions for improvement via an online survey available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/citycomm through Thursday, December 1.

As part of the City's Strategic Plan Initiatives, which are determined and approved by the Naperville City Council at the beginning of each year, City staff has been tasked with devising a new Citywide communication policy beginning with communications during emergency events.

“We believe feedback from our residents on what we're doing well in terms of communication and what should be improved is crucial in creating a comprehensive, proactive and effective communication policy,” Community Relations Manager Nadja Lalvani said. “I encourage everyone to complete the survey to share their thoughts on how they like to receive information from their City government and what specific topics are of interest to them.”

A paper copy of the survey is available in the Community Relations office, located on the first floor of the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. The survey link is also included in Volume I, Issue 6 of the resident newsletter Naperville Connected, which will be distributed to homes and businesses from now through November 2, 2011, with monthly utility bills or via e-mail for e-Bill customers. In addition, a link to the newsletter is available at www.naperville.il.us/connected.aspx.
