Firefighter hurt in Milwaukee fire

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police say a veteran firefighter received minor injuries when he fell through stairs after an explosion in an unoccupied building.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports the city Fire Department was called to a fire and explosion on the north side of town shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

A 60-year-old firefighter and 22-year veteran with the Fire Department fell through some stairs and sustained minor injuries, for which he received treatment.

The Milwaukee Police Department’s criminal investigation bureau is investigating the fire.
