Store employee injured during Naperville fire

An employee of a Naperville home furnishings store was treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation Sunday after a fire broke out in the shop’s backroom.

Firefighters responded to Galleria Lighting, 760 S. Route 59, Sunday morning while the business was open and found that the store’s sprinkler system contained the flames to the backroom, fire Capt. Les Adamski said.

Fire officials said a male employee of the store was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville to be treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire caused smoke and water damage to much of the business, which fire officials estimated at $50,000, Adamski said.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation Sunday night.
