Wheeling man gets probation for retail theft
A Wheeling man pleaded guilty Thursday to undercharging merchandise from the Arlington Heights cosmetics store where he worked as a cashier.
Kenneth Holiday admitted to the retail theft, a class 4 felony, and in exchange Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie sentenced the 24-year-old to 18 months probation and 20 days in Cook County Jail, time considered served.
Prosecutors previously said Holiday undercharged merchandise for a friend.
On Nov. 10, Holiday caused the register to read $2.33 for merchandise worth $286.01, Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Walsh said.
Marisie ordered Holiday pay $286.01 in restitution.
