Pujols a new Mr. October
ARLINGTON, Texas — Albert Pujols has hit three home runs in Game 3 of the World Series on Saturday night, becoming the first player to accomplish the feat since Reggie Jackson in 1977.
Pujols hit a three-run homer in the sixth, a two-run shot in the seventh and a solo drive in the ninth for St. Louis in a 16-7 victory over the Texas Rangers to give the Cardinals a 2-1 lead in the World Series.
Babe Ruth hit three homers in a game for the Yankees in 1926 and 1928.
Pujols tied a Series record with six RBIs in one game.
