St. Charles' Developers Breakfast brings together 60 key business players
The city of St. Charles Community & Economic Development Department partnered with the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce to co-host the St. Charles Developers Breakfast May 2.
The event brought together 60 representatives from local and regional commercial brokers, lenders, architects, and construction firms with four developers that have significant projects in St. Charles. This is the second time the breakfast was held; the first event was in 2015.
The program showcases current development projects in St. Charles to an audience of interested real estate and business development professionals. This year's featured exhibitors included:
• Prairie Centre - Shodeen Development
• First Street - First Street Partners
• Semersky Enterprises Audi Exchange and Pine Ridge Development - Semersky Enterprises
• The Quad - The Krausz Companies
"The St. Charles Chamber of Commerce was pleased to work with the City of St. Charles and our sponsor, Prairie Forge Group, to host an event for our community partners to showcase their developments and allow key leaders in this industry an opportunity to network," said Stacey Ekstrom, president and CEO of the St. Charles Chamber of Commerce.
Matthew O'Rourke, the city's economic development division manager, echoed that sentiment.
"The whole idea is to get individuals and companies that work in development into the same room for networking and idea generation," said O'Rourke. "By facilitating introductions and conversation, the event creates new opportunities to identify potential clients and resources for the featured developments."
Also at the meeting, were representatives from other city departments who are involved in the development review process, including staff from fire, police, finance and public works. These departments regularly work with applicants, businesses, developers on their projects.
"This event truly highlights the shared role the Chamber of Commerce, the City and local agencies play as vested partners in the Economic Development in St. Charles," said O'Rourke. "It exemplifies that St. Charles is ready to work to bring fruitful investment into the community."
