NIU ensemble to perform at Aurora University

The Antiqua Baroque Consort, an ensemble at Northern Illinois University, will present a program of vocal and instrumental works by Handel, Scarlatti and Praetorius and others at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, in Crimi Auditorium at Aurora University, 407 S. Calumet Ave.

Ensemble members are Zenia Lee, soprano; Mark Ponzo, natural trumpet and cornetto; Emily Jane Moran, playing the university's new harpsichord; and guest artist Jacques Lee Wood, baroque cello.

The concert is the second in an inaugural Third Thursday series by Aurora University music faculty members.

The remaining concerts in the Aurora University series will take place Nov. 17, Jan. 19, Feb. 16, March 15, and April 19.
