Aurora mayor hires asst. chief of staff

Aurora resident Rick Guzman has started work as assistant chief of staff to Aurora Mayor Tom Weisner. He fills a post that has been vacant since summer.

Guzman, a licensed attorney who until recently worked as director of community development for Community 4:12, a nonprofit associated with Community Christian Church in Aurora, started working in Weisner’s office Sept. 30.

Guzman will serve as a liaison to community groups, nonprofits and the city council’s government operations committee and will work on issues related to housing and neighborhood quality of life.
