Stallions Lacrosse U11 team headed to national tourney

The Stallions Lacrosse organization recently announced that its Stallions U11 team, the recent champions of the Warrior 2011 Pipe City Lacrosse Tournament Festival, will be competing in the 2012 NDP Tournament of Champions.

This is the equivalent to a baseball team going to the Little League World Series.

The U11 Stallions team hasn’t lost a game since Dec. 18, 2010. They also had a great regular season, going 26-0, undefeated in the Northwest Chicago Youth Lacrosse Federation.

During that time, they swept the playoffs for the championship, finishing with a perfect season and won the Midwest Regional.

The team is thrilled to be going to the National Championship over the New Year’s holiday in Tampa this year, where only the best teams around the nation were invited. The Stallions are looking for the first youth National Championship in Mundelein history in any sport.
