Wis. DNR urges hunters to report tagged deer

MADISON, Wis. — State wildlife officials are reminding hunters to report any deer marked with ear tags or radio collars they may kill this fall.

Department of Natural Resources scientists marked more than 335 deer across Outagamie, Price, Rusk, Sawyer, Shawano and Waupaca counties in January as part of a buck mortality study.

Hunters are free to kill any of the marked deer. The DNR asks anyone who does to contact agency researcher Chris Jacques (jay’ kes) with the tag or radio collar number, the circumstances of the kill and their contact information. Jacques can be reached at 608-221-6358.
