Bulls watch Day 12
Here's a glance at some of the latest developments as the Bulls search for a new coach and prepare to court top free agents:
Oakley sees exit: Charles Oakley never played for the Cavaliers, but he did grow up in Cleveland. The former Bulls and Knicks power forward told the New York Daily News that he expects LeBron James to sign with the Bulls or Miami Heat this summer.
"Chicago or Miami," Oakley said. "Not New York. He's leaving (Cleveland). He wants to go someplace where he can win. He's been in the league, what, seven or eight years? It's time for him to get over the hump."
Oakley might know what he's talking about. He reportedly befriended James and is often seen hanging out with Michael Jordan.
Phil on LeBron: The Bulls' best chance of luring Phil Jackson back for a second stint as head coach is to sign LeBron James as a free agent. Jackson talked about James' early playoff exit on ESPN Radio in Los Angeles.
"We are amazed at the demeanor of LeBron in the last two home games he played," Jackson said. "I mean, we definitely saw a different guy out there on the court in Game 2 in Cleveland and Game 5 in Cleveland than we've seen from him in two or three years.
"I understand how it leads to speculation that he's going somewhere else because it feels like ... if your mind's not there, your heart may not be into it."
