Don’t believe Perry’s, Cain’s tax plans
Herman Cain and Rick Perry say they will address the current “jobs problem” by repealing the entire Internal Revenue Code and replacing it with Cain’s 9-9-9 tax or Perry’s flat tax. Republicans should ask, “How dumb do these guys think we are?”
The chance of ever repealing the entire Internal Revenue Code and replacing it with any system of taxation without special loopholes and carve-outs is one in a million at the very best.
The people who provide the hundreds of millions of dollars of support to Republican politicians running for office — money which in turn makes possible all those wonderful and effective attack ads that infest our radio and television experience — want to keep the current system because, through it, they prosper by special opportunities to avoid the payment of any taxes. If Republican politicians interfere with this special treatment, these sponsors will become cranky and stop the money flow that Republicans now rely upon to get elected.
Anyone who believes that Cain or Perry actually intends to push these tax plans if elected is a chump.
