NATO Says Libya Mission Should End 'As Soon as Possible'

NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen said he's “encouraged” by progress in Libya after the collapse of Muammar Qaddafi's regime and aims to end the mission in the northern African country “as soon as possible.”

“We will continue our operation as long as necessary, but we are determined to bring it to an end as soon as possible,” the North Atlantic Treaty Organization's chief told a meeting of the 28-member alliance's defense ministers today in Brussels.
