Hoosiers continue push toward youth movement
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana coach Kevin Wilson keeps no secrets from his players.
Those who practice the best during the week will play the most on Saturdays. For eight weeks, Wilson has stuck to his mantra, even if it means benching upperclassmen.
Sixteen true freshmen have already made their college debuts this season and nine have actually started games. The latest addition to that list is quarterback Tre Roberson, who started at Iowa, was named the Big Ten’s freshman of the week and may finally provide the answer to Indiana’s quarterback carousel.
But it’s not just Roberson.
Bernard Taylor is the Hoosiers’ left guard, Cory Latimer is one of Indiana’s starting receivers, Mark Murphy had made an impact at safety. And all of them could be key players for three more years.
