Garden club spices up Lombard library’s lawn
Proceeds from the Lombard Garden Club’s annual lilac sale this spring went toward landscaping and sign repairs for the Helen Plum Memorial Library.
The library’s new lawn has a curved rock design on a slight slope, a variety of shrubs and ground cover surrounded by mulch and plantings, including juniper, ornamental trees, viburnum, vinca and roses.
The lights of the main library sign were repaired and an obsolete sign for the “Colonel Plum Auditorium” was removed.
The library will install a plaque recognizing the garden club for the landscaping.
