Eradicate disease so families are spared
Great article on Oct. 18 about the Cuccinotto family and their battle with Huntington’s disease. My dad, John, and Joe Cuccinotto were our football, basketball and baseball coaches in high school.
When I heard Joe was diagnosed with this disease it was like, “What kind of disease is that?” After hearing more about it, it answered a few questions. Joe was a very good man, always willing to help in any way he could. It is a shame the family is affected in this manner.
When my Mom was alive she used to say Joe’s wife, Therese, is already a saint due to having to deal with the problems associated with this disease and the affects it has on the rest of her family.
Here’s hoping this disease can be wiped out so that the Cuccinottos and all the other families affected by this devastating disease can live good lives.
