Mother defends 11-year-old accused in stabbing

FITCHBURG, Wis. ) — The mother of an 11-year-old boy charged in Dane County with stabbing an acquaintance with a scissors says her son was provoked into the attack.

The woman tells WKOW-TV her son was being taunted and was defending himself against a boy twice his size. But, Assistant District Attorney Mike Walsh says the defendant could have killed the 14-year-old victim.

A delinquency petition says the boy acknowledges he has trouble dealing with his anger. A court commissioner allowed the boy to be released to his mother who says her son is a “big baby.....a Momma’s boy.”

The older boy is recovering from stab wounds.
