Hampshire stops Burlington Central

Victor Miranda scored 2 goals Monday to lead the Hampshire boys soccer team to a 3-1 nonconference win over rival Burlington Central.

Jose Hernandez scored the other goal for the Whip-Purs (10-10), while Ismael Morales had 2 assists and Jason Bishop 1.

“It’s the first time we’ve beaten them in a few years,” said Hampshire coach John Gosling. “It was our Senior Night and we played well.”

Chris Gousios scored the lone goal for the Rockets (10-6-4).
