Eclectic Poi Dog Pondering to play at Ravinia
Few groups can draw from as eclectic an array of influences and still make cohesive, coherent pop music like Chicago-based Poi Dog Pondering can. Since the late 1980s, the band has delivered songs that contain touches of acoustic folk, electronic/house music, orchestral sounds and straight-ahead pop. Their latest full-length record, 2008's "7," also displayed the influence of soul music. And Poi Dog is known as a top-shelf live act, too. You have a chance to see for yourself this weekend.
