Hoffman Estates sponsors Environmental Fair Oct. 29
Join the village of Hoffman Estates Environmental Commission for its 10th annual Environmental Fair from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. This family-friendly event will be held at the village hall, 1900 Hassell Road. Admission is free.
This year’s fair will feature four speakers covering multiple topics, including “How to Green any Organization” for businesses seeking to become more eco-friendly, “The Asian Carp Menace,” live birds of prey and “Totally Organic Gardening.” In addition, there will be alternative fuel and hybrid vehicles on display. Exhibitors include the Illinois Environmental Council, Sierra Club, Poplar Creek Prairie Stewards, Crabtree Nature Center, Alliance for the Great Lakes, Izaak Walton League, Northern Cook County Soil and Water Conservation District, and University of Illinois Extension Master Gardener program.
Join your friends and neighbors for this fun, educational experience, which attracts families, educators, students and business professionals from the area. Listen to expert speakers discuss fascinating eco-subjects, visit the unique displays, take home helpful literature on environmental topics and be sure to chat with representatives from 20 conservation and environmental groups about restoration, conservation, wildlife rescue and recovery, natural resources, and preservation.
