Explore the heavens at Elgin museum’s Science Night

Submitted by Elgin Public Museum

The Elgin Public Museum continues its monthly Science Night with “Space Odyssey Science Night — Part II” on Friday, Oct. 14.

Gas planets, red dwarf stars, solar systems — expand beyond your horizons and discover the Universe. Scientists are discovering new things about the universe all the time, yet human knowledge of space is still just beginning.

Join museum staff on a second look to the stars for clues about the solar system’s past and what may come.

The Elgin Public Museum will explore space through new experiments and demonstrations at different stations throughout the museum.

From 8 to 9 p.m., the Elgin Planetarium will set up telescopes in Lords Park to view the night sky in a whole new light. New experiments make this a great program for those who attended last year’s Space Science Night as well as for those who missed the fun the first time around.

For this month’s Science Night only, this drop-in program will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Cost is $2 per person. The museum is located in Elgin’s Lords Park at 225 Grand Blvd. No registration is required. For information, call the Museum at (847) 741-6655 or email epm@cityofelgin.org. Visit elginpublicmuseum.org.
