Rummel running for Lake County Board

Former Lake Forest mayor Mike Rummel has announced his candidacy for the newly redrawn Lake County Board District 12 seat, which will include most of Lake Forest, Knollwood, and portions of Deerfield and Highland Park. Rummel, 60, a Republican, was mayor from 2005 to 2009. He is the president of his own insurance firm, serves as vice-president in charge of development for the Northeast Illinois Council of Boy Scouts, is the acting chairman of the Lake Forest Downtown Commission, chairman of the Lake Forest Sesquicentennial Committee is and a member of the Ragdale Board. He and his wife have made their home in Lake Forest for more than 30 years and have two grown children who attended Lake Forest public schools. For more information, visit mikerummel.com. The current District 12 representative is Democrat Angelo Kyle of Waukegan, but the district boundaries will be significantly redrawn and will no longer include the Waukegan area.
