Kane state’s attorney will seek 4-year term
Kane County State’s Attorney Joe McMahon will announce Tuesday his intent to run for a full, four-year term in the November 2012 election.
McMahon, a Republican, was appointed in November 2010 to fill out the remaining term of John Barsanti, who became a judge.
McMahon, a lifelong resident of Kane County, served as a head of the Kane County state’s attorney’s office criminal division from 1998 to 2000 before working for the Illinois Attorney General and later going into private practice.
He will make his announcement at 12:15 p.m. at the Geneva courthouse, 100 S. Third St.
