Bail set at $500,000 in fatal Madison shooting
MADISON, Wis. — Bond has been set at $500,000 for one of two men charged in a fatal Madison shooting.
Nineteen-year-old Anthony Williams is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of Michael Keith outside an apartment building Sept. 15. Prosecutors say Williams and 18-year-old Zachary Mays killed Keith during a robbery. A criminal complaint says two women also charged in the case needed rent money and cigarettes, so they called Williams and Mays and made a plan to rob Keith, a man they called “Payroll” because they believed he carried large amounts of cash.
Bail was set at $500,000 last week for Mays. The State Journal (http://bit.ly/oAjRAohttp://bit.ly/oAjRAo ) says a preliminary hearing for all four is scheduled Oct. 13.
