Submitted by Elgin Township
Whether you are one of the “Boomers” turning 65, or a seasoned senior, this informative and fun presentation is for you. The local TRIAD — police, seniors and senior providers together supporting safety for seniors — is again sponsoring this free Medicare event in the Heritage Ballroom at The Centre in Elgin, 100 Symphony Way, at two times in order to accommodate working seniors.
The presentation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13.
Laura Garcia, assistant director of the Chicago SHIP Office, will present “The Ins and Outs of Applying for Medicare, “Alphabet Soup: Understanding Parts A, B, C and D,” and “How to Select a Supplemental Insurance Provider Right For You.”
Linda Strohschein, a local elder law attorney, will speak about “Medicare Myths and Benefits for Real Life,” using a case example, and review “Health Care Reform Updates for 2012.”
Light refreshments will be served and $25 gift cards will be raffled at each table. With many changes affecting Medicare this year, you will not want to miss this event.
You must RSVP early to reserve your spot by calling the Elgin Township Office at (847) 741-2045.
