Indy, Fort Wayne drivers among safest in the US
INDIANAPOLIS — An insurance company report ranks Fort Wayne as the 15th safest large U.S. city to drive in and Indianapolis the 46th safest.
The report released Thursday by Allstate Insurance Co. ranked the 200 largest U.S. cities on the frequency of car collisions.
It says the average driver in Fort Wayne will experience an auto collision every 11.6 years. The national average is one collision ever 10 years. Fort Wayne fell four spots from its No. 11 ranking last year.
The report says the average driver in Indianapolis will experience an auto collision every 10.3 years. Indianapolis fell two spots from its No. 44 ranking a year ago.
