Man charged in Edens Expressway trucker's stabbing

State police charged a Racine man with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of a trucker last week on the Edens Expressway, police said.

David Seddon, 49, of Racine, Wis. was charged in the death of Allen Lauritzen, 40, from Sparta, Wis., who died last Friday afternoon at Highland Park Hospital, officials said.

That morning, a motorist had spotted him lying on the ground with two stab wounds in his chest and one in his arm on the shoulder of the Edens near Tower Road.

Lake County Coroner Richard Keller said last week that the chest wounds are what proved fatal.

Seddon will be in court Tuesday morning to face the charge, police said. Police did not release details about Seddon's relationship with Lauritzen or a possible motive late Monday.
