Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights to reward students for good grades
As another school year begins, The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights encourages students to sign up for their “We Pay for A's” contest. To date, thousands of dollars in cash prizes have been awarded to students who have performed well in school.
The contest is open to residents of Arlington Heights and the surrounding communities. Eligible contestants must be enrolled in school, regardless of grade, as those from kindergarten through college are eligible. Students can pick up contest applications at either of the bank's two locations at 41 S. Vail Ave. or 1104 S. Arlington Heights Road. Applications are also available online at www.peoplesbanc.com.
At the conclusion of each academic quarter, five winners will be drawn from the pool of applicants. Each winner will be asked to bring in their most recent report card and they will receive $20 for every A and $5 for every B up to a total of $100 per quarter. The money will be deposited into a Kids Savings Account at the bank. If the winner does not have a savings account, one will be opened for them free. Students may win multiple times provided they continue to apply each quarter.
Mary Ann Flynn, senior vice president of The Peoples' Bank touts the program's success in past years. “We Pay for A's is one of our most popular programs for students of all ages. It's fun for the students and parents love the incentive it provides their children to do well in school. Signing up takes only two minutes of your time and it's a constant reminder for kids to strive for A's in all their classes.”
