Police say robbery suspect left photo on stolen laptop

As far as one suburban man is concerned, a picture may be worth more than a thousand words: It might just add up to 4-15 years in prison.

Riverside police arrested 43-year-old Dominick Harvey Wednesday after circulating a self-portrait photo they say he left behind on a stolen laptop.

Police allege he entered two Riverside homes in August and stole cash, jewelry and computer equipment. One recovered laptop had Harvey’s photo on it, which police circulated to the public.

Authorities say the Berwyn man confessed, saying he knew police were looking for him when he saw his picture on the news.

Harvey faces two counts of residential burglary, which carry up to a 15-year prison sentence.

Harvey is being held in Riverside pending other investigations and couldn’t be reached for comment.
