Perry too big for his breeches

Where do the Republicans get this parade of presidential candidates who are apparently proud of being ignorant? These “tea-vangelists” rail against government while they accept their pay to work for the U.S., or a state government, and have taken all kinds of government money for everything from their education costs to payments Michele Bachman’s husband collects for praying with gays to make them “straight.” I think the scientific thought still favors the conclusion that gender preference is a genetic phenomenon like skin color.

The newest Republican candidate Rick Perry has a big Texas swagger, a propensity to break out in prayer at any time, doesn’t believe in global warming or evolution, and brags that he has increased jobs in Texas by being its governor.

As I understand it, the private employment in Texas has fallen about 2.6 percent under his governorship. However, because of federal spending in Texas (which has gone up 6 percent) overall employment has done better in Texas. Texas has lots of military/defense facilities. In fact I believe Fort Hood is the largest employer in the state.

So, for those voters who couldn’t vote for George Bush because they thought he was too logical, too well-educated, too savvy and too interested in protecting Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and governmental job stimulus programs, you can now vote for Rick Perry without the guilt of having elected an erudite egghead.
