A Labor Day Festival is planned Sept. 1-5 in St. Charles to benefit Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley and Fox Valley Troop Support.

The festival will feature family-friendly carnival rides, games, and food throughout at the corner of Route 38 and Randall Road in St. Charles. The hours of operation will be 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 and Friday, Sept. 2; 1 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4 and Monday, Sept. 5. Unlimited ride specials will be available hours each day.

A portion of the proceeds will support the mission and operations of Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley and Fox Valley Troop Support.

Literacy Volunteers Fox Valley provides free, one-to-one literacy tutoring to adults in Kane County’s Tri-Cities and several of the county’s western communities. Lessons help people learn to read, write, understand and speak English better.

Fox Valley Troop Support’s mission is to support U.S. military service members deployed overseas. The organization supports deployed service members by sending care packages, letters and by providing support for families of deployed troops.
