Barrington Lyric lectures resume in September

As the new opera season prepares to debut, the Barrington Chapter Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Outreach Community Education Program will again sponsor lectures provided by Lyric Opera of Chicago Lecture Corps.

Co-sponsored by Barrington Chapter Lyric Opera of Chicago and The Garlands of Barrington, the lectures will be presented at The Garlands of Barrington, 1000 Garlands Lane in Barrington. Each of the lectures, with musical illustrations, will precede the featured operas in the upcoming Lyric Opera season.

Ÿ “Lucia di Lammermoor,” 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4

Ÿ “Boris Godunov,” 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1

Ÿ “Ariadne auf Naxos,” 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14

Ÿ “The Magic Flute,” 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30

Ÿ “Aida,” 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19

Ÿ “Show Boat,” 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8

Co-chairing Lyric Opera of Chicago’s award-winning Education Corps are Barrington Lyric’s past presidents Mary and Howard Robins of Arlington Heights.
