Ill. Tollway adds hearing on capital plan

Illinois Tollway officials have added a Kane County public hearing to its schedule of meetings about a proposed $12 billion capital construction plan.

The hearing will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Montgomery City Hall.

The meetings about the proposed 15-year program called “Move Illinois: The Illinois Tollway Driving the Future” are allowing customers and others to make comments about the plan.

All the hearings are webcast live on the Tollway’s website and the agency is soliciting comments online as well.

The capital plan is financed by money borrowed through bond sales repaid by a toll increase effective Jan. 1 for passenger vehicles and a commercial toll hike in 2015. I-PASS customers will typically pay 35 cents more and cash-paying customers will continue to pay double that.
