Ill. school chief will not be charged over tractor
DANVILLE, Ill. — A former school superintendent in eastern Illinois will not face charges for allegedly misusing school equipment and employee time.
The News-Gazette in Champaign reports that Vermilion County State’s Attorney Randy Brinegar has announced he will not file charges against former Georgetown-Ridge Farm superintendent Greg Irwin. The district is based in Georgetown, about 40 miles east of Champaign.
Irwin was placed on administrative leave May 22 after he was accused of using tractor and fuel that belonged to the district and using an on-the-clock employee to take care of personal work.
Irwin resigned May 24.
The local school board had asked the prosecutor not to file charges.
