Illinois GOP to hold convention in Tinley Park

The Illinois GOP's 2012 state convention will be held in of Tinley Park.

Republican officials say the Tinley Park Convention Center was chosen for its convenient location near several highways and state-of-the-art facilities.

Illinois Republican Party chairman Pat Brady says it's a good venue to kick off what he predicts will be a successful year for his party. He says the convention will take place June 8 through June 9.

The Illinois GOP convention is held every four years and rotates locations statewide. In 2008, it was held in Decatur and four years before that it was in Collinsville.
