Emergency food, shelter grants:

Grant applications are being accepted until 2 p.m. Wednesday for federal Emergency Food and Shelter Programs. Lake County’s allocation this year is about $354,000 to supplement local emergency food and shelter programs. Agencies chosen to receive funds must: be private voluntary nonprofits with a board of directors or units of government; have an accounting system; and, demonstrated the ability to deliver emergency food or shelter.
