Quinn meeting with nation’s other governor
SPRINGFIELD — Gov. Pat Quinn is in Utah this weekend for a meeting of the National Governors Association.
Quinn says he plans to share Illinois innovations like data.illinois.gov, the new website for sharing detailed information about government operations. Quinn says he hopes to learn about new ideas in other states, too.
Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich rarely took part in this kind of national event, but Quinn has taken a different approach.
In addition to the bipartisan governors’ group, he’s also active in the Democratic Governors Association. He even serves as the DGA national fundraising chairman.
After this weekend’s meeting in Salt Lake City, Quinn is heading to Israel.
