Nothing fair about ‘fair trade’ pacts

Proposed “fair” trade agreements with Panama, South Korea and Colombia are an extension of NAFTA, which already has cost the U.S. millions of jobs. Why do you think corporations and big banks are pushing for these agreements that result in low wages, no benefits, no pollution control, no concern for the environment; child labor and low taxes?

In addition to rigged trade agreements designed to bolster already huge corporate profits, countries like China devalue their currency versus the dollar, charge 20-percent import fees on many U.S. items and ignore any stipulation in the agreements anyway.

Meanwhile, our government continues to provide tax incentives to the corporations to outsource jobs while we worry about the economy and deficits. Unbelievable.
