Rolling Meadows Library expansion approved

Rolling Meadows Library will break ground on its building expansion project in May after inking a contract for the work.

The library board last week approved a $797,000 bid from Waukegan-based Happ Builders to construct a 1,625-square-foot addition in the southwest corner of the building at 3110 Martin Lane. The addition will include two meeting rooms with wall-mounted flat-screen TVs for presentations and whiteboard walls, and a flexible use room, tentatively called the Garden Lounge, which will have high-counter seating, charging stations for mobile devices, vending machines, and an electronic fireplace.

Construction will start the first week in May and is expected to be complete by August.
