Palatine police searching for man who tried to lure a boy into his truck
Palatine police are on the lookout for a man they say tried to lure a boy into his truck last week.
Police said that at 5:30 p.m. July 7, a man driving a red Ford pickup truck was traveling south on the 100 block of South Ash Street when he approached the boy, who’s about 11 years old.
The man stopped, exited the vehicle and called out to the boy, saying his mom was hurt. When he offered a ride, the boy immediately ran from the area and told his mother.
Police say the offender is described as a white male, 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds. He had brown hair, muscular arms and a large stomach. He was wearing a blue or green T-shirt at the time.
The truck is possibly a Ford F-250, police said.
