Palatine parade story missing important detail

Thank you Ed Sutarik for your factual explanation, (July 11 Neighbor Fencepost), regarding the Palatine Jaycees’ refusal to allow the Palatine Area Catholics Respect Life group the opportunity to march in the July Fourth parade.

From your article, the Jaycees president, Chrissy Raices is a past president of a pro-abortion group at the University of Illinois. She was quoted in Ben Shapiro’s book, “We don’t want to give the pro-life side a forum for their extremist views.”

I appreciate your ability to enlighten myself and the public on this issue. I am disappointed that the Daily Herald, in their extensive coverage, failed to report this information which explains it all. Additionally, I am disheartened that this article was the last one posted, and will, most likely, go unnoticed by many.

Shame on the Daily Herald and the Palatine Jaycees.
