Batavia schools solicit residents’ thoughts on future
The Batavia school board says it wants to hear thoughts from residents, students and employees about the school system.
Although people can address the board at its regular meetings, the board is having a “listening post” Tuesday focused on four topics.
Attendees can speak out and may also write their comments on sticky notes to be placed on posters about the topics.
The meeting is from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at H.C. Storm Elementary School, 305 N. Van Nortwick Ave.
Associate Superintendent Greg Romaneck will moderate the “listening post,” which is not a question-and-answer session.
Attendees are asked to consider four questions:
타 What are the greatest challenges or issues this school district has to address over the next five years in order to provide a quality education for all students?
타 What should the financial priorities be for the school district during the next five years?
타 What are the most important skills, appreciations and abilities students need to know or be able to do, to be prepared for college or career?
타 What could the school district do that would increase excellence in the educational system?
